ENVISION THE FUTURE OF CLASSICAL MUSIC…

The world-famous Leeds International Piano Competition was started in 1963 by Leeds local, Dame Fanny Waterman and over the last 55 years ‘The Leeds’ has discovered much of the planet’s greatest pianistic talent.
Now, in 2018 we recognise the need to evolve our digital reach and engagement.
In this rapidly changing digital landscape The Leeds wants to extend our digital approach in order to reach the broadest and largest global audience possible. We’re working with Global Digital Week and Leeds Digital Festival to create an exciting event to explore the digital potential and future of the piano, for music makers and audiences alike.
The Leeds will bring together digital experts, marketeers, entrepreneurs and technology specialists to trailblaze an ambitious and digitally connected future for the piano. Develop your expertise, inspiration and ideas to create something groundbreaking – no experience of the piano is required! Working in teams, attendees will explore creative solutions to the question: How can The Leeds lead a digital revolution in sharing and enjoying the piano online? Teams will present to an expert panel and the winning concept will be awarded shadowing opportunities with Medici.TV, a festival pass for the live competition events in September plus a ticket to the grand final at Leeds Town Hall.
To take part join us at University of Leeds on Wednesday 25th April from 18.00 – 21.00. Drinks and snacks provided.
